Bratislava Fashion Days

Autumn is coming. This means that it is cold outside and leaves are falling off the trees. It also means something different. The biggest fashion event of the year is held in Slovakia, Bratislava Fashion Days. This year's Fashion Days took place from the 13th to the 15th of October in the Bratislava Refinery Gallery. The Refinery Gallery is a rebuilt industrial building. More than 30 designers and brands from Slovakia and abroad were presented at this event.

First day

The first day belonged to young talented designers, who because of the project "New Faces of the fashion scene" presented their views on this year's theme, a poetic femininity. The professional jury was led by Iveta Lederer (an artist and teacher) and Simona Vachálková (a scenic and costume designer). They chose two winners from the contestants, and the winning duo shared the prize -  Marta Albrecht Mikulášová & Slávka Šromeková and a designer known as Wylczynska. There were also famous Slovak designers, such as Zlatica Hujbertová, La Rena, and Valery Dubay.

Second day

The second day of the fashion show belonged to the smallest. Kids and fashion are closely connected. This is the second year in a row that this show has appeared at Bratislava days. After a great success of the event last year, the director Mária Reháková decided to continue in this idea. During the afternoon of the second day of shows, fashion designers presented collections for children - Annamária Kiss Kósa, Monika Laceková, Junior Outlet and Lindex. The kids on the catwalk were smiling and the audience applauded. The little ones of the event brought in so many nice moments. Tall, young, models accompanied the kids on the catwalk.

The second evening of Bratislava Fashion Days brought a few surprises. At the beginning, a new collection was presented by the Italian designer Manuela Mariotti forming for the brand Dondup. After that there was a special fashion show dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Slovak fashion icon - Jana Pištejová. The designer together with a young and talented creator Róbert Vrzala prepared a unique show for the guests. Jana Pištejová also became a godmother to a new book - Fashion (Ikar). The popular rapper/singer Rytmus also had a performance during the show of Jana Pištejová.
